Do your kids like music? Dance? Yoga, martial arts, action and fun? In that case they’ll love the new Les Mills BORN TO MOVE™ group classes launching at Flex this month.

Les Mills is no ordinary fitness company. They created some of the most popular classes playing across gyms worldwide, like BODYPUMP™, BODYCOMBAT™ and RPM™. With BORN TO MOVE™ they are teaching a positive attitude to physical activity that will stand each child in good healthy stead for the rest of their lives.

Dr. Jackie Mills MD, head of programming, believes that this initiative is the most important program Les Mills has ever launched. “The world is heading towards a physical inactivity epidemic, and the early years of life are a critical window to form positive habits. Young people who learn to love being active are more likely to grow up to be fit and healthy adults and experience a host of benefits including strong muscles and bones, improved cardiovascular fitness and significantly decreased risk of disease.”

Group classes push kids harder than they’d push themselves solo
But the moves are so easy to learn and fun they won’t feel like they’re exercising
The latest tunes will get them moving, and smiling, instantly
And mixing martial arts, yoga, hip hop and sports conditioning packs the best into each session

Different ages, different moves, different music
From toddlers to teens there is a class ideal for your kids with music, singing and movement tailor-made for their age group. Children progress through the series, class by class, learning all the way but mostly just aware of having fun.

There are classes ideal for 2-3 year-olds, inspiring a love of movement and singing in each child, while building body awareness and balance.

4-5 year-olds are taken through concentration and balance skills, building confidence, social skills and imagination.

For 6-7 year-olds it’s about harnessing their visual learning skills, taking them through new moves and teaching them coordination and control.

Fun, games, fitness skills and cool moves make up the choreography for 8-10 year olds.

13-16 year olds get the full range of martial arts, hip-hop, sports conditioning, dance, yoga and plyometrics (jump training).

Results
The kids are left with a huge sense of achievement, the natural high exercise (even when it doesn’t feel like exercise) brings, and new skills to take forward to their next class, which they’ll already be looking forward to.
